In celebration of Veterans Day 2025, the North Hills Middle School History Club has once again filled the school’s main entrance with a powerful tribute to local military heroes.

Now in its second year, the Hall of Honor showcases images and biographies of 29 veterans who graduated from either North Hills High School or the former West View High School and have proudly served in the United States military.

The display grew this year, with 13 new veterans added thanks to submissions from community members and families. Each framed tribute tells a unique story of courage, service, and sacrifice, reminding students and visitors of the extraordinary individuals who once walked the same school halls.

The Hall of Honor, originally launched in 2024, was created by members of the NHMS History Club and the Middle School Social Studies Department as a way to connect students with real stories of service within their own community. It continues to serve as both a history lesson and a heartfelt expression of gratitude.

“The Hall of Honor has become a meaningful tradition that brings our community together,” said eighth-grade social studies teacher Joe Welch, who advises the History Club. “Our students are deeply inspired by the stories behind these names, and we’re proud to help preserve and share them.”

The display will remain up throughout the month of November, inviting all who pass by to pause, reflect, and give thanks to those who have served and continue to serve our country.
The North Hills School District extends its heartfelt gratitude to all veterans—past and present—for their dedication, courage, and service.

Happy Veterans Day, North Hills!
