Highcliff Elementary holds annual Veterans Day celebration

Highcliff Elementary School students invited veterans to a special Veterans Day celebration at the school on Monday, Nov. 11. The event began with a schoolwide presentation in the multi-purpose room. Each grade performed a song or a skit, and band students performed “This Land is your Land."
After the performances, attendees watched a 9-minute video during which students answered a series of questions including "What is Veterans Day, when do we celebrate it, how would you describe a Veteran and what does the U.S.A. stand for?” The video can be rewatched below.
It was then time for a parade through the school. Students and staff lined the hallways with handmade signs and showed off projects that were created about veterans and Veterans Day.
After the parade, a pizza lunch complete with salad and a cupcake was served to all.
